Remaster of AAA action RPG trilogy developed in Unreal Engine 3.
- Generalist engineering support spanning gameplay, UI, and editor systems.
- Integrated Xbox and PlayStation SDKs to allow streamlined platform-specific launching from the editor.
- Implemented input mode switching across each title leveraging an existing ActionScript, UnrealScript, and C++ codebase.
My third and final project with Blind Squirrel Games would be the biggest and most anticipated title I have worked on thus far in my career. I was hugely, hugely excited about this and my excitement propelled me through the long days we spent working on this game.
Although the game stayed in Unreal Engine 3, like The Sims 4, the remaster and port of the Mass Effect trilogy used ActionScript for the UI systems, so I did a lot of UI work on this project. Thankfully, the UI between the three games was not terribly different, but there were definitely nuances I had to be aware of from game to game.
In addition to the usual UI work, I got to work a little bit more with the Xbox and PlayStation SDKs to hot launch and deploy the games to their various platforms from the Unreal Editor.
